She Looks Into Me — Paul Éluard

She looks into me

The unknowing heart

To see if I love

She has confidence she forgets

Under the clouds of her eyelids

Her head falls asleep in my hands

Where are we

Together inseparable

Alive alive

He alive she alive

And my head rolls through her dreams.

Maybe I just don’t know where to look for good translations, but Éluard seems relatively hard to find in English. Hopefully I’m wrong. This poem is very accurate though, at least when compared to my book. Wish I knew who translated this so I could give them credit.
