Smiling Back

How many eons will we need

To fully accept the existence of

Death in our lives? Mothers

Never want to outlive their children, but sometimes

The circle of life turns into an “eight”

Of Infinitum, or

Into the smile of a beautiful woman

One day; one way

To the road we all will take.

I’ve committed

My fair share of invalid sins. Now that

I’ve come to terms with the end

Of everything…

I should start smoking like an old school

Philosopher — just to

Accelerate the process

Maybe tomorrow at eight,

A pretty girl will smile at me,

And all things will be gone when I

Smile back
