Nymphs

Three cheerful nereids stole

Poseidon’s trident. Now

Floating flowers

Slowly collide with

Plastic debris

.

Men turn into

Bubbles; women are

Sea glass… Children ride seahorses

In the ocean’s womb. Sailors die

Crashing against tsunami walls

.

Swimming

In the festive waters, my

Heart inks the waves

With a pale pink

Thought — I’ve always

Wanted to love a

Mermaid

.

Salty water

Burns my eyes. Three beautiful

Nereids lustfully dance

Around me

.

  1. Hey, HeartBeatsBlue. Would you check out my blog under the “Connect” tab to see if you’d be interested in writing a page or poetry or two for Girl poems? I really like your writing style and I think your contribution would help to enhance the book.
