Will darkness ever triumph

After the lights

Ignite the fire in me? It is still

So cold. I am alone, but she holds

My hand in hers. We are

So fragile right now,

Like angels in the snow

I promised my eternity,

But she said that promises are just wishes,

And that wishes are just

Words. I muttered

— Wishes and promises can’t always

Be the same

We stare at the dark face

Of the moon

Here, under our veiled sorrows,

And I ask a question;

But who could ever respond?

I want to hold your hand

— tighter —

And never let go of you; I hold

Your body against mine. The winds will never

Carry you away from me

Still a promise. Still a wish.

All the hazy colors answer

— She will be the only
